Phrase search
Enclose words in quotation marks to find terms next to each other, in the order specified e.g. "multiple sclerosis"
NOTE – truncation does not work within a phrase search
Truncation
Find terms containing a common word stem e.g. cancer* - to find cancer, cancers, cancerous
NOTE – truncation does not work within a phrase search
Combining terms
- and finds records that contain both/all terms entered e.g. cancer and lung
- or finds records that contain any of the terms entered e.g. spine or vertebrae
- Note that these terms are not case-sensitive, so 'cancer AND lung' will retrieve the same results as 'cancer and lung'.
